Allan "Wormy" Dwaine Martinell

MARTINELL, Allan Dwaine “Wormy” – Passed away at his home in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, June 12th, 2017 in his 74th year. Devoted father of Mark (Elizabeth), Lori Page (Chris) and Rob (Stephanie). Adored papa of Erin, Emma, Matthew, Jared, Colby, Carter, Kayla, Ryley and Reagan and great-grandpa of Kyrie. Cherished brother of Doreen McLeod (Ken) and Ruth McQuigge (the late Wayne). Predeceased by his parents Robert “Bob” and Beatrice (nee Kennedy). Wormy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him. Wormy was a dedicated and devoted volunteer in the Peterborough lacrosse community for many years, beginning in the mid 1960’s with the Hastings Legionaires. He was part of both Minto and Mann Cup championship teams, as a trainer, including the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame Peterborough P.C.O’s. In keeping with Wormy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Wormy’s life at a later date. In memory of Wormy, donations to the Peterborough & District Sports Hall of Fame would be greatly appreciated by the family.
