Suddenly in Guelph on Friday, October 13th, 2017 in his 30th year. Beloved son of Denise Gurr (Dennis Kushnyrick) and the late Larry Lennox and Katherine McAlpine.  Cherished grandson of Glenys O’Donoghue and the late Daniel O’Donoghue, as well as his late Nana Margaret McAlpine. Dear brother and best friend of the late Lisa Lennox, Danielle Gurr (Donald Cullum), Chelsea Gurr (Derek McCanse), Misty Emmerton (Patrick Emmerton), Jeramie Anderson (Alice Englemann). Derek will also be sadly missed by his Aunt Sherry Perks (Luke Hahn), Uncle Bob McAlpine, and Aunt Suzy Oltmann, along with all of the other souls he touched throughout his journey. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends will all keep him close in their hearts.  There will be a Celebration of Derek’s Life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Friday, October 20th, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM.  Eulogy at 6:00 PM.  In memory of Derek and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
