BUZZELL, J. Norman “Buzz”: Passed away peacefully at PRHC surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 5, 2018 in his 99th year. Buzz, beloved husband of Doris and the late Isobel (d.1992) Loving father of Ron (Silvane), Linda (Chris), Nancy (Pat), and step-father of Steve (Jane), Shawn, and Connie (Rob). Buzz loved spending time with his grandchildren Tanya (Trevor), Ryan (Elaine), Matthew, Kari (Craig), Julie, Justin, Megan, Matt, Nick, Kaley, Laura, Meghan, and Brad and many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Patricia Corcoran. Son of the late Henrietta LaPine and Ashley Buzzell. A Second World War Veteran, Buzz was a trumpeter in the Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals Band until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #52 and a long time member of the Peterborough Concert Band as well as several dance bands having played with the Bobby Kinsman, Hal MacFarlane, and George Novotni Bands and several others in Quebec. He worked at the G.E. for over 30 years and after retirement continuously volunteered at the P.R.H.C., drove for the Canadian Cancer Society and played Last Post countless times at the Cenotaph as well as many funerals. His extensive dedication and outstanding commitment to help others was his way of paying back for his incredible life. Visitation will be at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm. There will be a Royal Canadian Legion Branch #52 Service at 12:45 pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Highland Chapel at 1:00 pm. Revered Milton Barry officiating. Reception to follow.
