It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Russell on December 19, 2017 at Fairhaven in Peterborough. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Lucille (Black). He will be forever missed by his sons Bob (Cyndi) of Brackendale, B.C., and Randy (Jenny) of Rochester, N.Y. Proud Grampa of Gregory (Megan), Christie Lou, Cameron and Carey. Sadly missed by his sister Donalda MacLean, and sisters-in-law Verna Black, Joyce (Gerry), Yvonne (Walter), and Marilyn Cunneyworth. Uncle Russ will be fondly remembered by his many Nieces and Nephews and their families.
Formerly from Mississauga, Russell retired from American Standard after 37 years. He was an avid sports fan, and loved playing baseball and hockey well into his senior years. The family would like to thank Dr. Spink and The Staff in Special Care-Riverside 1 at Fairhaven – The Staff at The VON Day Centre, - and Dr Doell and Staff at The Gains Clinic. Special thanks to Diana, and The Alzheimer’s Staff for their support and guidance.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, Saturday June 2, 2018 at 10:30 am: Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers – donations to The Alzheimer’s Society or Charity of Choice would be appreciated.
