Aileen Isabel (Carl) Downer

DOWNER, Aileen Isabel (nee Carl) – While surrounded by her family, Aileen passed away at the Peterborough Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at the age of 76. Predeceased by her beloved husband Arnold Downer. Devoted and cherished mother of Andrew (Cindy Byers), Cindy and Tracy Macdonald (Chris). Adored grandmother of Adam, Lillian and Dylan. Dear sister of Wilson Carl (Karen) and Shirley Orr and sister-in-law of Paul Campbell (Margaret), Marlene Duncan (Bob), Jack Pacey (Joan) and Debbie Craft (Roy). Aileen will be sadly missed by her long-time friends Judy and John O’Connor and Diane Bestard and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Aileen was a very passionate woman and had many talents. She was a long time RN with an outstanding reputation. In her spare time, she played with many Bridge groups, belonged to the Kinettes and enjoyed baseball and bowling. Her family wish to thank the Stroke and Palliative Care wards at PRHC for their care and compassion. There will be a celebration of Aileen’s life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Friday, December 7th, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. -8:00 P.M. with Eulogies at 7:00 P.M. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery to take place at a later date.
