July 28, 1945 to May 5, 2019. (Retired Peterborough Firefighter for 35 years, Member of the Peterborough Fire Association)

After a long and courageous fight with cancer, Alf Bowser passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and supportive family, at the Peterborough Hospice Care Centre.  Alf, beloved husband for 53 years to his wife Sheila (nee Stranaghan).  Loving father to his son Alfred Jr.  (Carol), daughter Deborah Tully (Gerry) and son Michael (Heather).  Proud Papa to Alfie Jr, Stevi-Lyn Dulmage (Jason), Breanna and Delaney Tully and Great Grand Papa of Dominic.  Dear brother of Gerry Bowser (Tammy), the late Dorthy Baldassarra and the late Berry Bowser. Alf will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Janice Bowser.  Dear brother-in-law to Bob Stranaghan (Lori), Pat Springer (Mike), Karen Bennett and Shelley Stranaghan (Brian) and the late Barb and Ray Stranaghan. Alf leaves behind his best friends Bill Edwards, Paul Clarke, Carl Spence, his great co-workers at the Peterborough Fire Department and many friends. There will be a celebration of Alf’s life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Friday from 11:00-2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Rosemount  Memorial  Gardens. In memory of Alf and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Peterborough Hospice Care Centre would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at
