CARPENTER, Barbara Jean (nee Fulford)
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Wednesday October 16, 2019 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of Ralph (2014) for 63 years. Daughter of the late Dr. Cecil Fulford and Jean Macfarlane. Dear mother of Judy Burns (Don), Ellen Snell (Brian), Laura Halkai, and Neil Carpenter (Brigitte). Lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren; Bret (Jayne), Sean and Luke Taylor; Sarah (Scott) Britnell, Rebecca (Mark) Crozier, Rachel (Mike) Everett; Ryan and Evan Halkai, and Reid and Mark Carpenter; step-grandmother to Jeremy (Jamie) Burns. Great grand-mother to Abbey and Chase Taylor; Bailey, Ella and Chloe Taylor; Hannah and Megan Britnell; William and Samuel Crozier, and Madelyn and Nixon Everett. Sister of the late John (the late Christine), and the late Richard Fulford. Sister-in-law of Dorothy Fulford.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother, an exceptional homemaker who took great pleasure in caring for her family. She was a great cook, knitter and seamstress. Referred to today as a “stay-at-home”, Mom was always there to welcome her children home from school, often with a tray of freshly baked cookies. Barb was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. We are thankful that Mom is now free from pain, and reunited with loved ones. The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff of St. Joseph’s at Fleming for all their exemplary care given to Mom in the 5 plus years she resided there. Special thanks to longtime friend Jack Adams for his continued love and support. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday October 26th, 2019 at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
