Clara "Bea" Rhodes Obituary

RHODES, Clara Bernice “Bea” (nee Elliott)

July 19, 1926-February 8, 2019 (92 years)

Bea left her beloved family at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in comfort and content in the fact that she had a fantastic life and very proud of her family.  Bea is predeceased by her husband, Reg, in 2011 and her two brothers Roy Elliott (Bev), and Jim Elliott (Aileen).  She is survived by her sister Joan Bunker of Peterborough.  Loving mother of Susanne Vander Lugt (Harry) of Toronto, Virginia Casey (Jim) of Hamilton, her three sons Leith (Rilla), Kim (Mary), Craig (Georgia) all of Peterborough. Sadly missed by her 8 grandchildren, her 9 great grandchildren her nieces and nephews and her extended Catchacoma Lake family.  Bea’s main contributions in life were her work as a Founding and Chartered Member of the Northminster United Church and active in their UCW; her work in the Women’s Auxiliary of the Naval Association of Peterborough; successful amateur artist; and as a matriarch of her beloved Catchacoma Lake, a Cottager for 55 years.  It was her “little piece of heaven”.  A sincere thank you to Dr. Beamish, LHIN Home Care, Partners in the Care PSWs Ruby and Penny, and her friends and family support to keep her at home as long as possible.  A celebration of Life Service will be held at the NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH 300 Sunset Blvd,. Peterborough on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM.  Donations in memory of Bea, to Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Northminster United Church Memorial Fund or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family and can be through the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough.  Online condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
