I just came across this obituary today and my heart sank. What a great friend Dan was back when we went to high school. Brian Bencze, Dan and I had a very unique friendship and spent so much of our spare time together. My maiden name was Adams and apparently, I was related to Dan through the Twomey side of the family. He was such a caring, gentle and funny soul and he was part of our trio. When one graduates from high school it is easy to lose touch. I always thought, someday, we three would reunite and talk over the "old days". Little did I know that it was not to happen. Wherever your beautiful soul is, Dan, I hope you can check-in and know that you were always a great friend and the world is so much sadder because of your leaving. Soar high in heaven, Dan and know that you deserve those wings. Love you, Buddy

Every morning Matthew and Dan would chat about various things. Dan was always patient with him and even took Matthew under his wing at times when things needed to be done at the school. I can still see Matthew in kindergarten using the big floor machine as Dan walked behind him. Part of Matthew's interest in learning how things work and how they are fixed are thanks to Dan's time and commitment to the students.
