Dolly Priscilla Beavis ( nee Bantam)
It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of the captain of our ship. Dolly passed away peacefully surrounded by family holding her hands at age 83 on August 11, 2018.
Dolly was born in Kirkfield to George and Pearl Bantam. She was a spirited sister to Errol (Dorothy), June and Weldon (Jean). She was a short spunky sister in law and a loving Aunt Dolly to many nieces and nephews.
In 1954, she moved to Peterborough to begin her nursing training at Civic Hospital. She studied to become a dedicated and professional OR nurse for 30 years.
In Peterborough, Dolly met the love of her life Gerry, and started a fun filled adventure with Gerry. They were married for 59 years and dated for 5 prior. After 64 years, Dolly and Gerry helped to give so much life to their passions and family.
Dolly was a competitive bridge player, playing in the same group for almost 50 years. She was an enthusiastic sorority sister in Beta Sigma Phi for 49 years.
Her greatest passion and love was her family with Gerry. She was a loving and patient mother to Andy (Erika), Andrea and Allie (Tom). She was a fun grandmother to Joshua, Mitchell, Joey and Deaglan. And a guiding great grandmother to Joshua Junior, Ben and Aiden.
Dolly was the energetic organizer of all things BEAVIS. She helped guide us through many of our life journeys. Her lessons will always stay with us.
A celebration of life well lived will take place at Northminster United Church on Sunset Blvd in Peterborough on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2 pm. There is a visitation at Highland Park on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 7-9 pm. And another visitation at Northminster United Church from 1-2 before the church service.
