Edith Ward-Fisher (nee Allman)
Edith passed away peacefully at Peterborough Extendicare on Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was in her 100th year.
Mom knew how much she was loved and although we are sad, we do not mourn. Instead we celebrate having had her with us for so many wonderful years and know she will be joyously reunited with loved ones who have gone before.
Mom was born April 8, 1919 in Cheshire England. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Edith (Simmons) Allman and sister to the late Matthew Allman and the late Rose Tolley.
She was the wife of the late Richard Frederick Ward (d.1965) and the late George Fisher (d.1986) and the matriarch of a large family that spanned 6 generations.
She was the beloved mother of 7 children: Bill Ward (Mae), Bob Ward (Mary Lou d.2018), Ray Ward (Clarice), Faye McDonald (Don d.2008), Gloria Crowley (Vince), Evelyn Collins (Chuck) and predeceased by son Eldon (d. 1969).
Mom was the adored Grandmother of 19 (Jeff Ward d.2012) (Steve Ward d.2018);
cherished Great Grandmother of 43 (Micah Polach d.2003);
much loved Great Great Grandmother of 9;
and proud Great Great Great Grandmother of 1.
Friends and family are invited to attend Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterborough on Saturday, June 2, 2018 where a visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00pm.
A Celebration of Gratitude and Love will commence at 2:30pm in the chapel.

Interment will take place at Warkworth Cemetery at a later date.
