Today we mourn the loss of a dear Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt and Friend.  Elda was born July 22, 1943 in Peterborough, Ontario and was taken from us on April 26, 2019.  Elda was predeceased by her husband and lifelong love of 53 wonderful years, William James (Bill).  She was the most loving Mother of daughters, Susan Towns and her husband Randy of Norwood and Nancy Rodd and her Husband Mark of Lindsay.  She was a much loved Nannie of Cassandra (Jill), Andrew (Heather), Katelynn (Tevin), Megan, Matthew and dear Great Nannie to Landon. She is survived by brother Robert (Doris) Hicks and sister Marlene (Roy) Redpath.  Sister-in-law to Barbara (Archie) Davidson of Keene and Shirley (late Don) Weese of British Columbia.  She will be greatly missed by many dear nieces and nephews. Elda was privileged to have had two wonderful parents, Noble and Margaret Hicks and is predeceased by sister Margaret (Raye) Harrington and brother Douglas Hicks.   Elda took great pride and joy in her primary role as “Mom” and being “The Hallmark Lady”.  Family gatherings will remain a treasured memory to those she left behind.  We will miss her happy spirit, sense of humour, wonderful outlook on life and celebrations of the changing seasons. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Highland Park Funeral Centre (2510 Bensfort Rd.) Interment to follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Eyre officiating.
