Gerald "Gerry" Beavis

BEAVIS, Gerry (The Beaver) It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our kind and generous father Gerry. He passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Gerry was born on Rogers Street in East City to a family with three wonderful brothers. He is a proud uncle Gerry to many nieces and nephews whom he loved with all of his heart. Gerry or the Beaver as he was known to many in his profession. Gerry started his professional career as an auto mechanic at City Auto Electric. From there, he moved to Pioneer Chainsaws and finally Outboard Marine Corporation. Gerry spent years helping people and sharing his mechanical knowledge. He taught service schools all over Canada and fixed chainsaws and lawnmowers in the most remote places. Gerry gave back to the community through the Boy Scouts, Kinsmen and many church organizations. His positive and giving nature showed through his great smile and laughter. He would brighten a room through the kindness in his heart. Gerry was married to his love of his life Dolly for 59 years and they raised three fabulous children. He was a loving and guiding parent to Andy (Erika), Andrea, and Allie (Tom) teaching them many life lessons. He introduced the love of the outdoors to his grandchildren, Joshua, Mitchell, Joey and Deaglan and great-grandchildren Joshua Junior, Ben, Aiden and Timothy. Gerry believed that being a good friend means putting others before yourself. He showed that you do your very best for others whenever you can. Friends will be received at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterborough on Thursday, November 14th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 300 Sunset Blvd. Peterborough at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 15th.
