FOX, Mrs. Gloria Eva Elizabeth (nee Anderson)
Peacefully with her family by her side at Lakefield Extendicare on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Allan Fox and the daughter of the Late Grant and Eva Anderson (nee Stephens). Loving mother of Rob (the late Catherine) and Linda Fox (Manfred Czerwinski). Cherished grandmother of Marina Charron (Martin), Keisha Fox (Matthew Bezanson), Robin Fox (John Miners) and great grandmother of Randy, Nala and Nora.
Gloria was born, raised and educated in Campbellford and played an integral part of the family businesses: Anderson’s Dairy and Fox’s Sunoco. Gloria’s interests were diverse. She was an avid bowler, Thursday-night bingo player, dance mom, fashionista, gifted singer and frustrated golfer. Additionally, she was passionate about playing euchre, reading, knitting, listening to country/big band music, line dancing, travelling, harness racing, trying to outsmart the “one-armed bandit”, summers with family and friends at the cottage at Crowe Bay and hunting and fishing with Bob in Northern Ontario. Gloria was known for her charity, empathy, humanity and dependability as a friend and confidante. She was a member of the United Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.
In accordance with Gloria’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Gloria’s life will take place in August 2018. When arrangements have been made, details will be posted on the link below.
A special thank you to the staff and Gloria’s extended family at Lakefield Extendicare, Island Park Retirement Residence and Campbellford Memorial Hospital for their love and compassion over the past five years.
In memory of Gloria and in lieu of flowers, please say a kind word, do a good deed and love unconditionally. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough.
