I will pray for you. Sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I still think about my experience helping you at your home: the pot gardens, Dahlia flowers, making a pumpkin pie, your bookcases, furnace expertise, and love of pets. Sympathies to your family also.

Dear Rosalie, Shahid, and the rest of the family.
We were very sorry to hear of Dr.Gardezi's death. We only knew him after his retirement to Peterborough, through his involvement with the NDP and other progressive causes, and were not fully aware of what an important scholar he was, although we knew him as a wise and learned man.
I shall never forget a Project Ploughshares meeting, several years ago, in the Peterborough Public Library, when Dr Gardezi spoke before the guest speaker, Ernie Regehr. He did not have time to complete what he wanted to say, I believe about Afghanistan, and when Regehr started speaking it was such a let-down that the audience grew restive. We should have created more opportunities to share Dr Gardezi's wisdom and knowledge, especially on topics most of us know so little about, and don't know what to believe of what we do hear.
He was a good man and and an accomplished one,.
He will be missed.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, I remember that meeting well. Many people have been impressed with Hassan's knowledge of history, myself included. I will miss not being able to consult him when world events make little sense to me.
