Hazel (Barber) Lumsden

LUMSDEN, Hazel (nee Barber) – While surrounded by her loving family, Hazel passed away at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the age of 94. Hazel, Devoted wife of the late Harold. Loving mother of Paul (Linda), Robert (Carol), William (Rebecca) and Douglas (Jane). Cherished grandmother of Jeffery (Karen Volpe), Alissa (Brendan Dellandrea), Amy Woodbeck (Jason), Laura (Cory Machell), Josh (Carley Stenson) and Courtney. Adored great-grandmother of Silas and John. Dear sister of Vince Barber. During WWII, Hazel was in the Royal Airforce and it was during this time that she met Harold and became a ‘War Bride’ in 1944. Hazel’s family wish to thank the Nursing staff at PRHC and Extendicare Peterborough for their care and compassion. Hazel will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Her unwavering love will continue to be felt by us all. In keeping with Hazel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a private family interment at Little Lake Cemetery.
