Hilda Mae (Lewis) Doherty

Doherty, Hilda Mae (nee Lewis) – Peacefully at Fairhaven Nursing Home on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Wilmer “Curly” Doherty. Loving mother of Deborah Mahoney (Dan), Donald (Lynne) and predeceased by her son Mark and daughter Pauline.  Caring mother-in-law of April Doherty .  Cherished grandmother of Derek, Darren (Kelly), David (Tanya), Dylan (Katelynn), Ashley (Ian) and Trevor ( Samantha). Sadly missed by many great grandchildren. Dear sister of Verna (Don) and the late Harold (Evelyn) and Grace (Tom). Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Hilda loved to be surrounded by family and friends, enjoyed preparing meals (she was a great cook), gardening, playing cards, knitting and sitting at the river. Hilda was a long time member and committed volunteer at St. Alban’s Anglican Church. Hilda’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the many staff members at Fairhaven who cared for and comforted Hilda during her stay at Fairhaven and especially during her final few weeks.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE (2510 Bensfort Rd.). Interment and reception to follow.
