JOHNSTON, James Hallada (owner of J.H. Johnston Construction Company Ltd.) – Peacefully and surrounded by family at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, July 15th, 2017 in his 84th year. Beloved Husband and best friend of Merele (nee Hewie). Devoted Father of James “Jim” Johnston (June), Loraine Teatro (the late Les), Elaine Forde (Robert) and Darlene Swift (the late Mike). Adored Grandfather of Jenni Hubbert (Dave), the late James Johnston, Joe Teatro (Kelly), Tammy Moore (Randy), Katie Branscombe (Lee), Krissy LaForge (Dan), Michael Swift (Jessica), Kerri-Ann Swift and Jeffrey Swift (Brittany Morrison). Cherished Great-Grandfather of Hayley, Carter, Kolby, Callan, Hudson, Rylynn, Mieha, Cora, Jake, Luke, Brady, Teeghan and Payton “Annie”. Dearest Brother of the late Al Johnston (June), the late Mary-Jane Johnston, the late Edwina Edwards (the late Jack), Margaret Miron (the late Gerard), Dick Johnston (the late Shirley), Orthea Rothwell (the late Jerry), Patricia Lariviere (the late Jim), Andrea Piepenhagen (the late John), Geraldine Clysdale (Moe), the late Jacqueline Johnston and Kathy Brolley and Brother-in-law of the late Bernie Hewie (Marion), the late Esther Gillespie (the late Bill), the late Joe Hewie (the late Ola), the late Jean Russell, the late Doreen Wilson and Mickey Hewie. Son of the late Andrew and Loretta (nee Hallada) Johnston. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as his best pal “Lexi” the dog. James will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. The funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 20th, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. followed by interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens and a Celebration of Life Reception at the Evinrude Centre, 911 Monaghan Road, at  4:00 P.M. In memory of James, donations to his late grandson’s fund “James Johnston Memorial Fund” or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
