We pray for the soul and loved ones of Joan Elizabeth Huskisson (nee Riley), who died peacefully on October 17, 2017, in Peterborough.  Joan, the daughter of Mary and Fred Riley, was born June 12, 1939 in Peterborough. She will be missed by her husband Larry; and by her children Louise (Neil Snider), Steven, and David (Tammy Henderson), her grandchildren Benjamin, Meghan, and Kelsey, her sisters Marilyn Woodward, and Mary Theresa, and her many friends.  Joan graduated from the School of Nursing in Belleville in 1963. She had a career in several hospitals on a variety of floors.  She later studied psychiatry and prior to her retirement, finished her career as a well respected psychiatric nurse in Peterborough.  Joan had many interests, but, above all she cared for family and for those in need.  She devoted many hours to Meals on Wheels, and years of service to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Saint Anne’s.  The family would like to thank Dr. Jeyabalan, Dr. Beamish, Dr. Whatley,  Pam and the nursing staff in the Oncology Clinic, Palliative Care, VON, and St. Elizabeth for the wonderful care these many years.  Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held at SAINT. ANNE’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH 859 Barnardo Ave. Peterborough on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Reception to Follow in the Parish Hall.  In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Joan, donations to the PRHC Palliative Care Garden, St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Peterborough Zoo or the charity of your choice.  On line condolences may be made at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
