THOMPSON, Kenneth Gordon Local REALTOR/Developer (Retired) Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the age of 62. Beloved father of Emma Thompson. Cherished son of Stanley and the late Norma Thompson (nee MacPhail). Dear brother of Ron (Julia), David (Denise), Blair, and Brian (Katherine). Ken will be missed dearly by Christine Kemp and Kevin. Loving uncle to Diana, Staci, Lindsay, Kelly, Jeff, Paul, Michael, Charlotte, Laura, Vicky, Paula, Leanne, and Angela. He will be missed by his many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Born in P.E.I., Ken grew up in Markham, then Peterborough, graduating from Crestwood Secondary School before going to Trent University. He resided most of his life in Bridgenorth/Selwyn. A long-time member of the Peterborough and Kawartha's Association of Realtors, an avid golfer and skier, he loved to cook for his family and friends and had a special place in his heart for animals. He enjoyed traveling and completed housing developments in several countries. Thanks and gratitude to Dr. David Rutledge and the doctors and nurses at PRHC for their ongoing care and support of his diabetes. Donations to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by his family. A private family service and interment will be held at Little Lake Cemetery. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Ken's life at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019 from 1:30P.M. – 3:30P.M.
