Shirley Mae (Peters) Gardner

Gardner, Shirley Mae (nee Peters)   October 19, 1930 – April 2, 2019

Passed away with family by her side at her residence at St. Joseph’s at Fleming in Peterborough in her 89th year. Beloved Wife of the late Eric Gardner of Norwood. Mother of two sons, John Hubble and the late Dana Hubble. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Garbutt. Predeceased by her parents William and Nettie Peters and siblings; Everett (Chuck) Peters, June Peters, Carole Barry (nee Peters), Karen Delpellaro (nee Peters). Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Dear friend and companion to Harold Sloan. The family would like to thank all of the Staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, and extended Nursing Team in the Woodland Unit for the supportive care and compassion during Shirley’s time with them. The lovely farewell procession for Shirley was truly heartfelt. To honour Shirley’s wishes, there will not be a funeral.  Cremation Services were provided by Highland Park Funeral Centre. Their professionalism was sincerely appreciated.  Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Shirley are welcomed.
