Daw, Teresa Jane: UE. (Formerly Curnow) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Teresa, after a short struggle with cancer in her 53rd year, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Jan. 3, 2018. Teresa is survived by her parents, Lorne & Eileen Daw of Hamilton. She will be sadly missed by her sister of Allison Miller (Harold) and their sons Kyle & Ryan of Brampton, brother Trevor (Alyssa) and daughter Shevonne of Vancouver B.C. Also remembered by her Aunt Shirley Young, Uncle Ross Daw, and many cousins in the Hamilton area. She is predeceased by her grandparents, John & Mary Daw & Herb & Hilda Patterson. Teresa leaves many dear and dedicated friends in Peterborough and surrounding area. As well as those who served with her on the ARCH Board of Directors, Toronto. Teresa had a longstanding history of being a strong and effective advocate on disability rights issues and worked locally, nationally and internationally to advance social justice and inclusion for marginalized and underrepresented groups for over thirty years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Highland Park Funeral Centre (2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough) In memory of Teresa, donations may be made to the ARCH Disability Law Centre.
