Plaskitt, “Theresa” Mary Blanche – It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa (nee Chenier, formerly Kirschner) announces her peacefully passing at Peterborough Extendicare at the age of 88 on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Theresa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Robert “Bob” Plaskitt and her children Randy Kirschner (Cheryl Whitnell), Elaine Martelli, Dianne Townsend (Terry) and Wendy Turney (John). Theresa will also be forever remembered by her 8 grandchildren, Lisa (Eldon), Jason, John (Jada), Nikki, Cheryl (Brent), Tanya (Kelsey), Jeff (Leslie), Greg, and 11 great grandchildren, Christopher (Teresa), Samantha (Robert), Seth, Johnathan, Joshua, Madison, Steven, Johnny, Noah, Levi and Evan and 5 great great grandchildren Evelyn, Isaiah, Nevach, Eva and Vivienne. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Jean Auckland and Betty Plaskitt. Theresa will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Predeceased by her husband John Kirschner (d. 1970), parents, Ida (nee Bouchier) and Albert Chenier, sisters Doris Speakman (Ken), Cecile Heffernan (Don) and brother Oscar “Ted” Chenier (Lucille), brothers-in-law Jim Plaskitt, Bruce Auckland and son-in-laws Rick Mackie and Mike Martelli. A Celebration of Theresa’s Life will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a tribute to Theresa at 11:30 with lunch to follow at the Naval Association, 24 Whitlaw Street in Peterborough.
