Johnston, Thomas Charles (Charter Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Sir Aubrey Allen Assembly, Long time 3rd Degree Member and Past Grand Knight of Ernest J. Wolff Knights of Columbus Council 798, Lifelong Parishioner Sacred Heart Church, Long time volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Avid Golfer and Member of Liftlock Golf Club): Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 25, 2019 in his 77th year. Tom, beloved husband of 46 years to the late Karen Johnston (nee Dack d. 2011). Loving and devoted father of Shelley Berthelot (Paul) of Peterborough, Susan Keats of Ottawa, and Tom (Lori) of Peterborough. Cherished Poppa of Paul, Laura, Sarah, Katie, Jerad, Emma, Bradley, and Nicole. Dear brother of Peggy Moodie (Kenn), Pat Johnston (Mary), Rob Johnston, Nan Hendren (Mike), Dave Johnston (Pauline), and predeceased by Eddie Johnston. Brother-in-law of George Dack (Margaret), Lil Guerin (Paul, predeceased), and Larry Dack. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Remembered lovingly by his dear friends, especially his companion, Marie Andrew. Son of the late Edward Johnston and Elizabeth McCarthy. Survived by his step-mother Madeline Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Road on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 (Parish Prayers 8:00 pm) and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 pm (Knights of Columbus Prayers 5:30 pm) Funeral Mass in SACRED HEART CHURCH, 208 Romaine Street on Friday, March 29th, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Fr. Andrew Ayala officiating. Cremation to follow. Reception in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 317 Hunter Street West following the Mass. In memory of Tom, donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Dr. Gibson and the compassionate staff of PRHC Palliative Care for the care and compassion shown to Tom these past weeks.
