Wilhelmina Petronella Huisjes (Nee Hamersma) 1936-2018
Wilhelmina “Oma” passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and care of her family and friends on April 25, 2018.  A devoted wife, mother, oma and friend, she lived a life full of “gezellig” moments – leaving a family legacy that demonstrates the power of life lived with love, warmth, togetherness, family and generous compassion.  She was a courageous woman who sought out the best life possible for her family across continents and finally to Canada where she adored the changing colours of the fall leaves and the sunsets. 
Wilhelmina joins her husband Henk, son Harry and son-in-law Steve Kowacz (Keith) in heaven. Her laughter, love and encouraging spirit will be greatly missed by her children Johanna Kowacz, Andy Huisjes (Heather), Alida Wood (Tim); grand-children Elizabeth Teleki (Paul), Daniel Huisjes, Alicia Ott (Matthew), Chris Kowacz, JJ Huisjes (Dana) and Alex Wood; great grand-children Madeleine, Orion, Desmond, Gauge and Phoenix.
 
To join us in celebrating the life of Wilhelmina, you are invited to her church Cephus Christian Reformed Church at 220 Goodfellow Road in Peterborough on Saturday, May 12, 2018.  Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.; Service at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon. 
Wilhelmina cared deeply about the suffering of others. Please consider giving a donation to an organization dedicated to helping others in her memory.
