William "Bill" James Weese

Weese, William James “Bill” - Today we mourn the loss of a dear Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle and Friend. Bill was born January 21, 1941 in Peterborough and passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018, barely into his 78th year. Bill is survived by his wife and lifelong love of 53 wonderful years, Elda (nee Hicks). He was a most loving father of daughters Susan Towns and her husband Randy of Norwood and Nancy Rodd and her husband Mark of Lindsay. He was the proud grandfather of Cassandra (Jill), Andrew (Heather), Katie (Tevin), Megan, Matthew and great grandfather to Landon. Dear brother of  Barbara (Archie) Davidson, from Keene and brother-in law of Bob Hicks (Doris), Marlene Redpath (Roy), Douglas Hicks, Shirley Weese and the late Margaret Harrington (Raye). Bill was the loving son of the late Wilfred “Bud” Weese and Grace (nee Abbott) and was predeceased by his brother, Don Weese, of B.C. He will also be missed by many dear nieces and nephews. Bill had a long career in the Tool and Die Department at the Canadian General Electric until he retired in 2000, making a multitude of friends along the way. Bill took great pride and joy in his family and the special times and memories created at the family cottage and travelling south. His lifelong passion for the sport of golf was well known in the community. Bill’s bright smile welcomed everyone. Along with his pleasant disposition in life and sense of humour, he will be greatly missed by us all. A special thank you goes to Bill’s long time friends, Derek & Audrey Holmes and John Perry for their continued support to Bill in his final years. In keeping with the family’s wishes, a private family service will be held. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice.
