It is with broken hearts that we, Stephen Ryan and Karen (nee Bemister), announce the passing of our beautiful son Adam Ryan, who left this world on August 1, 2025, at the age of 31. Adam was the loving brother of Matthew (Alex Varga-Scott), and Liam (Chi Nguyen), and a cherished uncle of Rowan.  Adam was a beloved grandson of Edna Bemister and Cyril Ryan and was predeceased by grandparents Ray Bemister and Margot Ryan. Adam will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends we consider family.

In a life that was much too short Adam never tired of his quest for knowledge and understanding. He graduated from Trent University on the Honour Roll in 2016 with a B.A. in Philosophy. While at Trent Adam was a recipient of the James Middleton Essay Prize in Humanities (2014-15), and he presented at the Philosophy Society Student Symposium in 2016. But for Adam his education did not end at graduation as he had a passion for reading and expanding his understanding of thought and the human mind and experience. 

There will be a Graveside Service held at LITTLE LAKE CEMETERY 915 Haggart Street Peterborough, on Tuesday August 19th at 12:30PM.  Celebration of life Reception will follow at McThirsty’s Pint 166 Charlotte Street Peterborough from 1:30PM to 3:30PM.  In memory of Adam and in lieu of flowers the family asks that you simply take some time to raise a glass to Adam and reflect on any memories you may have of time spent with Adam, and please share those memories with us if you wish to do so. (oh, and when toasting Adam we recommend his favorite, a Guiness)
