Allan Michael Franks

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan, peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday January 1, 2026, in his 86th year, surrounded by the love of his family. 

Predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Stanley Franks. Beloved father of Sandra Hope (Steve), Barb Derry (Kevin), Pam Roberts (Jason).  Adoring grandfather of Brittany (Julian), Brett (Qasem), Corey (Nicole), Payton, Owen, Isaac, and great papa of Mackenzie.  Brother of Shirley Hagerman (Wayne), Marie Walsh (Orlyn), the late Ralph Franks (Jane) and the late Linda Knox (Bob).  Brother-in-law of Sharon Pattinson (Tom) and Ross Bailey (Heather).

Although having strong roots in the Madoc area, specifically Eldorado, Allan’s interests, business opportunities and acquaintances took him far beyond the community that he always called “home.” Allan spent the last few years in Peterborough where he was close to his daughters and their families.

Deeply loved, dearly missed, and always in our hearts, Allan will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. The memories we share will be cherished forever.

A Memorial Reception will be held on Monday January 12, 2026, from 11a.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, ON with words of remembrance at 12 noon. 

In recognition of the wonderful and compassionate care he received whenever a patient at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, or in recognition of his love of the outdoors, donations to PRHC or to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters would be appreciated by the family.
