Al, beloved husband of 61 years to Shirley (nee Crough). Loving and devoted father of Bernadette Peters (Rick), Paula Robertson (Kevin), Heidi Irwin (Scott Boyd), and Theresa Windsor (Trevor). Cherished Grandfather of Joshua Peters (Jess Hilker), Brett Peters (Dr. Jenna VanderVelden), Alec Peters (Keleigh O’Toole), Austin Peters (Natalie Wood), Curtis Robertson (Alana), Carter Robertson (Alyssa), Beau Irwin (Sarah Furfaro), Jaycee Windsor, and Katy Windsor (Brandon Kidd). Great Grandfather of Deacon Robertson, Veronica Windsor, and the late Carolina Cole Robertson. Dear brother of Jim O’Neill (Patrick Conlin, predeceased). Predeceased by his brother Paul (Lillian), and sisters Mary McRae (John, surviving), and Kathleen Hermer (George). Survived by his sisters-in-law Doreen Arthurs and Anne Crough. Predeceased by Shirley’s siblings and their spouses Tim (Alice, Gwen), Vince (Mary), Carmel LaFave (Gerry), Urban (Helen), Pat Lustic (Frank), Helen Hoey (Joe), Peter (Denise), Fergus, Teresa Garvey (Fred), Jack (Marie), Max, Emmett (Shirley), Paul (Patti), Colette Moher (John), Sister Eileen Crough CSJ, Gerry, Robert Leo, Francis, and Mary. Son of the late John O’Neill and Marie Murphy. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends . Relatives and friends are invited to attend Al’s Memorial Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00am Monsignor Michael Heffernan officiating. Interment St. Luke’s Cemetery, Downeyville followed by a reception in St. Luke’s parish Hall. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s at Fleming for their extraordinary care and kindness to Al and the entire family.
