Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in his 82nd year. Born in Actinolite, Ontario, to Art and Lucy Robinson, Allan moved to Peterborough to earn his machinist certification and begin a career with General Electric, where he worked until his retirement in 2005.
Beloved husband of Delin since 1974. Loving father of Stacey Butcher (Chris) and Patti Robinson. Proud grandfather of Cece and Bronson Butcher. Dear brother of Joyce McKay (the late George), Marian Pedrezetti (the late Fran), Jack Robinson (Carol) and Lloyd Robinson (Karen). Allan will be missed by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and his sisters June Way (the late Ron), and Ruth Eaton (Laird).
Allan was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening and quiet walks in the woods. An exceptional handyman and natural problem solver, he could figure out and fix just about anything, a gift that carried over into his many years at GE. These attributes were taken from Allan with his Lewy Body journey. Donations to Hospice Peterborough or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by his family. A Celebration of Life Reception will take place at Chemong Lodge, 764 Hunter Street, Bridgenorth, Ontario on Sunday, October 25th from 2:30 to 5:00pm with Words of Remembrance at 3:45pm. Arrangements entrusted to Highland Park Funeral Centre. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
