Alyson had a devastating and fatal accident on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, shortly after her 50th birthday. She was the beloved daughter of Lenora Blackmore (nee Robinson) and the late David Blackmore, cherished sister of Philip Blackmore (Jeannine McLeod) and Valerie Blackmore (Christopher Stemerdink), and very proud aunt of Nathaniel, Claire, Owen, and Dylan. A graduate of PCVS, Seneca College, and the University of Guelph, she worked at Fleming College. Alyson will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Her memory lives in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
“Curly” was an animal whisperer and will be dearly missed by her four-legged soulmates: her dog Kiki, and her horse Flash. She lived a generous life and always gave the most thoughtful and creative gifts. She was passionate about justice and fairness, especially for the vulnerable and marginalized. Alyson was adventurous and curious, a homesteading spirit who insisted that her culinary creations were ethical, healthy and interesting.
Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 1:00 P.M until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery and a light luncheon in the Highland Park Reception Centre will follow. Alyson would have appreciated donations to any animal-welfare charity. Expressions of memory and condolence can be made through www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com.
