It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew “Drew” McAuliffe, who passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on September 24, 2025, at the age of 61, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Drew will be lovingly remembered by his children, Dylan (Holly) and Cassandra, and his cherished granddaughter Clara. He also leaves behind many beloved “grand-kitties,” and the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Patti Wakelin.
He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Jerry McAuliffe, and is survived by his siblings Mark (Nicole), Mike, and Martha. He will be deeply missed by extended family and a wide circle of friends who will remember his sense of humour, strength of character, and deep devotion to his children and granddaughter, who meant the world to him.
A passionate car enthusiast, Drew loved everything to do with racing, engines, and the open road. Whether he was watching from the stands, working under the hood, or swapping stories about his favourite rides, cars were a lifelong joy and connection point in his life.
He also treasured the time spent at the bike park, hockey arena, and ball diamond, cheering on his kids in their sports throughout the years. His presence on the sidelines was a constant source of love and encouragement and some of his happiest moments were spent watching them play, grow, and thrive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Highland Park Funeral Centre, Peterborough, Ontario. All are welcome to drop in and share memories.
In honour of Drew’s love for cars, we encourage fellow car enthusiasts to bring their vehicles and take part in a special Cars and Coffee style tribute. Cars will be lined up in Drew’s name for an informal car show in celebration of his life and passion.
