Anne Elizabeth (Richardson) Haldimand

HALDIMAND, Anne Elizabeth (nee Richardson)

(March 23rd, 1926 - January 24th, 2025) Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, January 24, 2025 in her 99th year. Anne (Mickey) grew up in Brownsburg, Quebec. Eldest daughter of Creighton and Frances Richardson and sister of Marilyn Morf. Anne practiced nursing at Montreal General Hospital and volunteered for many organizations that were dear to her heart, including the YWCA, Peterborough Curling Club, Kawartha Golf and Country Club, and the Liberal Party of Canada. She was also an active volunteer at the Peterborough Hospital for many years. Growing up, Anne spent her summers in Dunany, Quebec, where she met her beloved husband of 63 years, John (Jack) Haldimand. Anne is remembered lovingly by her five children, Cathy (Gery Czirjak), John (Heather Hamilton), Janet (the late Rob Burgess), Peter, and Anne (John Tait). Cherished grandmother of the late Lee Czirjak, John Burgess, Mickey Burgess-McGlynn (Sam), Peter Haldimand (Jenny), Janet Tait, Jack Tait, and great grandmother of Isabelle, Sadie, Brooklyn, Georgia, and Robbie. Anne loved to play Bridge and spend her summers with family and friends at the cottage on Mississagua Lake. In accordance with Anne’s wishes, there will be a private family service.
