It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arthur George Phillips on July 10, 2025 at the age of 86.
Arthur was born on November 17, 1938 in Hagersville, ON. He was the beloved husband to Arlene, his wife of 53 years and loving father to their 3 children Steven, Shelley (Rob) and Amanda (Stephen). He was the much-loved Grampy/Poppy to 5 grandchildren, McKinlee, Sal, Keira, Caitlin and Tyler. Survived also by sisters Vera and Flossie, predeceased by siblings Freddy, Jim, Ruby, Danny, Pete, John, Bob, and Lawrence. Arthur will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews and remembered fondly by many others as a true gentleman.
Arthur was highly respected by all who met him, would help anyone who needed it without the expectation of anything in return, loved a good joke and often made family laugh with his own Dad jokes and unique sayings. He was a respected school bus driver for 32 years, enjoyed working outdoors on his farm where he and Arlene raised their children and also worked as a landscaper before eventually retiring. He then spent time helping Arlene in her gardens, loved spending time with family and quiet time reading, completing puzzles or watching Jeopardy!
The family has opted to have a small private family celebration of life.
As Arthur would say, “Tally-ho-the-fox”
