Aubrey Philip Meister, known to many as Phil, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his family.
Born March 12, 1947, in New Ross, Nova Scotia, Phil was the son of Muriel (Parker) and Oliver Meister and one of thirteen children.
In 1972, Phil moved to Schreiber, Ontario where he settled and worked for many years with Kimberly-Clark Woodlands, retiring at the age of 58. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors, and working in his workshop, where he could tinker and keep busy. He moved to Peterborough, Ontario following retirement where he spent summers at his trailer and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Phil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Holly; his daughter, Tamalea Stone (Robin Kemp); his son, Troy (Monique Renaud and step-son Bohdan) and his grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Ben, and Minette (Minnie). He was predeceased by his siblings Donald, Vaughn, Orley, Roger, and Jeanette, as well as his son-in-law, Mark Stone.
Cremation has taken place, and in keeping with Phil's wishes, no service will be held. Donations in Phil's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Phil will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, and enjoyment of hands-on work. He will be missed by those who knew him.
