Augustina 'Tina' Maria (DeVries) Bruinsma

BRUINSMA, Augustina (Tina) DeVries: It is with profound sadness that we announce our mother passed on peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, September 20, 2022. We rejoice in knowing that she has gone to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior. Tina was in her 94th year, born in Holland to Berand and Maria DeVries on April 8, 1929. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard Bruinsma (2011). Cherished mother of Casey (Mary), Ben (Sheila), Michael  (Joanne), Rita Vilneff (Bill), Trudy Przybyszewski (Jerry), Doreen Nieuwenhuis (Bernard), Jeannie Peeters, and Gerry (Nancy). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kyle, Shannon (Tom), Katie (Kyle), Craig (Kerri), Michael (Jon), Lisa (Ben), Chad, Jason (Alisha), Shawn (Megan), Kylie, Karlie, Jeff (Lucky), Jeremy, Jamie, Josh, Kurtis, Kyra, Karli, Kelsi, Jamie, Ashley (Jesse), and Natalie (Curtis) and predeceased by her two grandchildren Tina (1988), and Kavin (1998). Adored by her great grandchildren Nolan, Hannah, Molly, Willow, Cannon, Vila, Marley, Blair, Molly, Bentley, and Lyla. Tina will be dearly missed by her sisters Beppie and Diane; her sisters-in-law Djoeke, Carole, and Marg; her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Regina, Corrie, Agatha, Annie, and Adriana; her brothers Frank, John, and Rein. Each and every day in her final years, Tina created hundreds of beautifully hand-knitted toques. Everything she did was done to perfection. We were very blessed to have so many wonderful years with our amazing mother. She instilled the importance of faith and family, always imparting these values, even up to her final breath. Friends are invited to call at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE on Monday, September26th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Tuesday, September 27th at 11:00am. Interment Highland Park Cemetery.
