Barbara Ann (Scully) Curphey

CURPHEY, Barbara Ann (nee Scully): Passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 18, 2022 in her 92nd year surrounded by love at Hospice Peterborough. Beloved wife of William of 68 years, loving mother of Paul (Pat), and Brian (Diana), proud grandmother of Matthew (Dara), Adam, Lauren and four legged fur baby Hudson.

Sadly missed by her brothers Allan (deceased) and his wife Barbara, Mel and his wife Barbara. 

Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Norma Lee Demchuk and her partner Ron. Barbara is survived by many nieces and nephews and their extended families. 

Barb was born and raised in Toronto. She loved dancing and music and was happiest in the company of family and dear friends. Together Barb and Bill enjoyed years of travel and friendships made over many years on Cora Crescent in Scarborough, before retirement brought them to Peterborough. That move brought new friendships, close bonds and fond memories with their incredible neighbours. 

We believe Barb will now be dancing with the angels and those she loved who went before her. 

The family would like to extend our profound thanks to the wonderful, caring and compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice Peterborough. Additionally, the family would like to thank Dr. Whiting who made Barbara’s final weeks comfortable, for that we are extremely grateful.  

In accordance with Barb’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
