Barbara “Lynn” (Bartholomew) McGhie

Barbara Lynn McGhie, widely known as “Lynn”, 82, of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on February 20, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on June 10, 1943, in Toronto, Ontario, to Alan and Wilma Bartholomew, Lynn grew up to pursue her passion for nursing. She worked in many specialized fields, including dialysis and palliative care, and was well liked and deeply admired by colleagues and patients alike throughout her 40-year career.

Lynn was also a devoted servant of God at Victory Baptist Church for many years, and she often used her faith to comfort and uplift others.

She will be dearly missed by her five siblings, Ann, Alan, Patricia, Lori, and Marie.

Lynn is lovingly remembered by her four children, Ross, Stuart, Lisa, and Andrew, as well as her six cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Sophie, Dilynn, Jake, Lola, and Tove.

Though she will be profoundly missed, we take comfort in knowing she is resting in the Lord’s eternal peace.

A Funeral Service will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Monday, March 2nd at 2pm, with visitation taking place from 1:30pm until service time. Interment Highland Park Cemetery.
