Betty Joan (Sayer) Price

PRICE, Betty Joan (nee Sayer): Peacefully after a brief illness at PRHC with family by her side on Monday, April 21, 2025, in her 105th year.  Betty, beloved wife of the late Fred Price. Loving and devoted mother to Nancy Lewis and her husband John and Linda Lavigne and her husband Ron. Cherished Grandmother of Ian Lewis (Amanda) and Amy Lavigne (George). Betty was the last surviving sibling of her family & their spouses: brother Art Sayer (Jessie), sister Doris Fife (Max) and brother Jim Sayer (Veronica). Daughter of the late Arthur Sayer and Amy Castle.  Betty’s life was purposeful and she did everything to the best of her ability. She was kind and caring and gave much more than she asked for. When Nancy & Linda were young, she led an Explorers Group with Viola Keates for many years.  Betty worked as a Red Cross Homemaker; she volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital, portering patients; she and Fred were active in St. Matthew’s Church assisting in many events.  After moving into Applewood in Dec. 2012, she took up newspaper delivery in the building; started a quilting group; helped decorate the building; helped staff & residents whenever she could.  She was interested in everything & Applewood was her home.  Giving back to community was important to Betty, but she was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Visitation will take place at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Tuesday, April 29, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Followed by a Funeral Service in the Highland Chapel at 2:00 pm. A light luncheon will follow her service.  Private interment in Little Lake Cemetery. In her memory, donations to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by her family.
