It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Ann Owens announces the passing of Betty (mom, sister, friend and grandmother). She had a long full life and passed in her sleep peacefully at the age of 92. She will be missed by her son Brian Owens (wife Reese Owens), daughter-in-law Sue Foster, and her sister Mary Smith. Her beloved grandchildren, Russ, Ciara and Nicholas. Nieces and nephews, Karyn (David Miller) and family, Randy Smith (Karen Smith) and family, Ashley Foster, and so many cousins and friends. Pre-deceased by her husband H. Bruce Owens, son John (JB) Owens and son Paul Owens.
Mom was born in Bethany Ontario and lived in Toronto for most of her working life. She retired from CIBC and has spent the last 43 years living in Peterborough. She enjoyed life, travelled, played cards and looked forward to watching golf - always voted on the Canadian golfers.
She enjoyed her time with family and friends. From Burnt River, the Kawarthas, Toronto and out West. She was always updating the family on what was happening.
She has now joined her family and friends in heaven. She will be missed. Her memories will live on in all of us.
A special thank you and thoughts are with Madge McNulty for her love and friendship to mom and all of us.
There will be a Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday, April 4th,2026 at Highland Park Funeral Centre in Peterborough from 2 - 4 PM. A private family burial in the summer will be held in Toronto.
Donations can be made in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society. A long-time organization she spent a lifetime supporting.
