Hannon, Biff
Passed away suddenly at home in Peterborough Ontario, February 20, 2025. Loving husband / music partner of Donna Collison. As a featured pianist, Biff appeared with every major orchestra in the United States and Canada, including the organizations of Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Bob James and numerous appearances on the Tonight Show with the NBC Orchestra. A versatile and accomplished musician, Biff conducted the Atlanta, Seattle, Detroit and Milwaukee Symphonies. His work can be found on many jazz and pop CD’s and albums, with such artists and ensembles as Nancy Wilson, Doc Severinsen, Xebron, the London Symphony, Teo Maecero, Buddy Rich and the National Repertory Orchestra. Biff earned his Bachelor’s of Music and later a Master’s of Music, both from the prestigious Eastman School ofMusic. He also studied with Ernesto Berumen at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Before his retirement, Biff toured for twenty one years with Doc Severinsen as a featured soloist and assistant conductor. A gathering of Peterborough friends will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd. Peterborough.
