Brenda Palewandrem passed away from cancer after a seventeen month battle on May 29th at 5:20 p.m. surrounded by family and friends at the Peterborough Hospital whose staff met her needs with grace under the direction of Dr. Nishikawa. She lived each day to it’s fullest in spite of the challenges before her.
Brenda was born in Hearst, Ontario on June 3rd ,1977. At age three she was adopted with her brother Roch by her parents Michel and Joan Tisi. She joined her new older sister Francine and nine years later her brother Christian was born. She graduated from Ecole Secondaire Charles Garnier in Whitby, Ontario. Brenda’s infectious smile drew people wherever she went. There has never been a child that she did not love as she simply glowed at the sight of each lovely and wonderful little human being. Her love of family and life made her the spark plug of her entire universe. People gravitated around her as she had a knack to light a fire during any party. There has never been a shirt on her back that she would not want to give to anyone in need. Her home gatherings were always filled with great food, joy and laughter. Her biggest addiction was SHOPPING which was evident by her shoe collection. Nature has always been a place of peace and solace for Brenda where she would fish for hours from her canoe always trying to outdo her dad. Her love for campfires included long hours gazing at the flames while making smores and cooking hotdogs. As a respected member of her community, she was recently honoured by being named Mother of the Year for her son Joshua’s hockey team the Millbrook Stars.
