Born in Montreal, the only child of Charles and Jessie Rapp. When Bruce was seven the family moved to Toronto where his father opened Rapp’s Pharmacy on Yonge Street. Bruce attended Lawrence Park Collegiate and graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1962.
He is survived by his wife Sally, his three children Adam, Jonathan, and Jessica Rapp and his two stepsons Kevin and Jim Hayes and their children.
Bruce spent most of his early career in industrial and graphic design in Toronto. In the late 1970’s he became partners in an animation company, often travelling to Manhattan on business where he met Sally. Bruce and Sally married in 1981 and moved to Peterborough area. In 1991, they opened the Russell Gallery of Fine Art, becoming a PADAC member, and dealt in Contemporary Canadian and American art for 22 years.
As per Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will occur at a later date. If you would wish to make a donation, The Peterborough Regional Hospital and the Peter Munk Cardiac Center at University Health Network are two wonderful and deserving places.
