Stephen, Bruce – It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Bruce Stephen on May 5, 2026, at Peterborough Hospice. Proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Bruce was born on September 28, 1932, in Toronto and put down deep roots in the Peterborough community for many decades.
Bruce is lovingly remembered by his children Christine (Dan) and Sharon, and by his daughter-in-law Jan. Cherished grandfather of Brooke, Kelly, Christine (Ryan), Matthew (Hayley), Andrew, Jaymes (Lorisa), Caitlin, Holly (Krystal), and great-grandfather to Dominik, Elva Mae, Marcy, Henry, Charles, and Grace.
Bruce was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth, his children Lynn and Robert, and his granddaughter Carissa.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, famously bad puns, and love for his family, the Leafs, a good laugh, and life itself.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Princess Gardens Retirement Residence for their care and support during Bruce’s time there.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Peterborough Hospice in his honour would be appreciated
