Catherine Chapman Obituary

CATHERINE LYNN CHAPMAN (nee Curtis)

February 5, 1959 - January 30, 2021

Cancer claimed Catherine’s life in the early morning hours of January 30, 2021.  She faced the disease with hope, courage and a strong desire to live each day to its fullest. Catherine’s beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.

Catherine loved a good adventure; be it travelling to the Caribbean, California or local destinations as long as it involved the people she loved. During the nice weather, Ken and Catherine enjoyed many camping excursions at their favourite parks. She was an avid crafter and knitting was her passion. One could hear her knitting needles clacking with her home renovation or cooking shows on right up to the end.

Catherine had many friends, too numerous to name, but these friendships and shared times were of utmost importance to her.

Catherine was pre-deceased by her best friend, soul mate and husband, Ken Chapman. Their relationship was one that most only dream of experiencing.

Catherine will be deeply missed by Ken’s father Ted Chapman (Carolyn), sisters Linda Gallant-West (Chris) and Sandy Kozak, niece Caroline Gallant and nephew Aleksei Kozak. As well, by Bob and Sara Glover and children Corbin and Piper. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters; Debbie McNaught (Steve), Janet Reedyk, niece and nephews; Samantha, Jeremy, Keegan and Nathan and by her extended family and dear friends. Catherine was pre-deceased by her parents Bert and June Curtis.

The family extends their gratitude to the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice (Ottawa) for the wonderful care provided to Catherine. A private celebration of her life will take place in the future.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
