Catherine Bridget (Clinton) Newell

On November 27th, 2022, Catherine Bridget Newell (Clinton), aka Cathy, passed away at PRHC after a 6-year battle with brain disease.  Cathy was born Sept 26th, 1955, in Cobourg ON and was the youngest child of Rita & George Clinton (pre-deceased).  Cathy is pre-deceased by her siblings Anne, Ed, & Tom and survived by her sister MaryJane.  In April of 1974 Cathy married the love of her life Ron Newell and began growing their family in 1976 with three boys; Chris (Kylie) shortly followed by Andy and Mark.  Cathy had a long career in medical records and loved chasing down people and information as the “chart-cop”.  Generous with her time and love, Cathy made sure everyone knew how important they are and would open her home, heart, and fridge to anyone in need.  Outside of work Cathy loved playing cards and going to the casino, baking treats for everyone, cruising & traveling, weekending at her vacation home with Andrea & Dan, cheering on the Blue Jays, and spoiling everyone around her, especially being Nana to Ethan & Morgan.  Cathy will cringe if you send lilies or gladiolas, so in lieu please donate to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

A service followed by a reception will be held on Friday December 2nd at 2:00pm at Highland Park Funeral Centre.
