David Arthur Evans, born in Medstead, Saskatchewan, passed away on November 3, 2023 in Peterborough, Ontario at the age of 92.
David attended Queen’s University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science as a mechanical engineer in 1956. He then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and received a Master of Science in 1959. David worked for DuPont Canada for 33 years, being at the forefront of implementing computing technology to support production systems. Throughout his life he enjoyed curling, sailing, camping, canoeing, lawn bowling, playing cards, and relaxing in front of the TV. He liked to read the Globe and Mail newspaper each morning while sipping coffee and eating an English muffin. Afternoon tea with Kawartha Dairy ice cream was also a daily routine in the last years of his life. Summers at West Lake and winters in California are some of the happy memories he and his family shared.
David is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children (Betty Lynn, John, Roberta, Christopher, Jonathan), his grandchildren (Nicole, Carrie, Cameron, Cassidy, Clayton), and his great-granddaughter Ruby. He is also remembered by his brother Robert and sister Evelyn.
