David, father, brother, son, husband, uncle and friend passed away suddenly in Peterborough, Ontario. He is survived by sons Elias, Satchel and stepson Matthew, long time partner Kathy, mother Earlien, sisters Wendy and Denise and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. David is predeceased by his father Maurice and brother Wayde.
David was a brilliant dreamer. He was an enthusiastic rogue, an extraordinary guide to the world of art, music and food and the guy that always said “why not” to any odyssey offered. Those around him always hopped on that adventure train because David was David and he had the gift of helping you see that you couldn’t miss out on what was coming next.
David’s extraordinary creativity shone through in any endeavour he undertook. He could paint real or imaginary worlds, craft anything out of wood that could withstand an Armageddon and write with the dark, sarcastic and heartfelt poetry of Charles Bukowski.
David’s zest will be missed by many. In lieu of donations, David’s spirit would be best honoured by taking a walk in the quiet of the woods, drawing what you see in front of you or by writing a very poorly spelled poem of the heart.
A celebration of David's life will be held in the coming weeks.
