Dennis Arthur Vass

With his family by his side, Dennis passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in his 84th year. Reunited with his beloved wife of 47 years, Betty Vass (nee Siddall) (predeceased 2012). Loving and devoted father of Lisa Vass (James Umpherson) and Julie Hendren (Kerry). Cherished brother of Norma Lowes (late Jacob), and brother-in-law of Jim Siddall and Morris Patton. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ruby (nee Evans) Vass, sister Doreen Patton and sister’s-in-law Nancy Siddall and Mavis Siddall. Dennis was an Electrical Testman with General Electric before retiring.  Throughout his life, Dennis spent a lot of time using his skills as a lighting technician for the Peterborough Theatre Guild, St. James Players and the Peterborough Figure Skating Club. Dennis will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. In keeping with Dennis’ wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 12:30 P.M. until the Memorial Service at 2:30 P.M. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery and a light luncheon in the Highland Park Reception Centre to follow. In memory of Dennis, donations to Golden Rescue or the Peterborough Theatre Guild would be greatly appreciated and can be made; along with expressions of condolence, below.
