Don earned a BA and MA in Counselling and his long, dedicated and fulfilling career spanned a number of decades and included working with Chimo Youth & Family Services, and The Central Community Care Access Centre with Acquired Brain Injury Clients from which he retired in 2014. Don was an historian, but World War I Military history was his passion. He loved writing the dialogue and giving historical tours in Little Lake Cemetery on behalf of the Trent Valley Archives. He was instrumental in starting the Military Museum at the Peterborough Armouries. Don was a Member of United Service Institute of Peterborough and he and Mary were members of Central Ontario Western Front Association. Special thanks to Doctor’s Whiting, Blake, Matheson, Beamish, PSW’s Donna and Alicia and Nurse Angel for the care and compassion shown to Don during his illness.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass in Sacred Heart Church will take place when we can all safely gather.
In his memory, donations to Four Counties Brain Injury Association Peterborough Chapter, or Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by his family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
